This program is designed for registered nurses who wish to become advanced practice registered nurses specializing in nursing care for individuals of all ages within the context of the family unit. The program is unique in its emphasis of social work concepts and how they intersect with effective nursing care.
Coursework for the Nursing@USC Online FNP Program
The Nursing@USC online MSN program consists of 49 credits and 784 clinical hours, which students can complete in five semesters (21 months) of full time study or eight semesters (33 months) of part-time study. In addition to attending classes and completing the required readings and assignments, students must also attend two on-campus intensives that involve faculty-supervised skill assessments and the opportunity for students to network with instructors and their peers.

They must also gain experience in an integrated family practice. Each clinical rotation that students complete consists of 14 weeks, and students generally work for 14 hours each week divided into two 7-hour stretches.
